Meet Mary Ricotta, DDS

A dark haired Dr. Mary Ricotta, DDS who is wearing a printed blouse and smiling.Dr. Ricotta’s quiet, calm personality makes her easy to warm up to! Before becoming a dentist, she was actually a Registered Dental Hygienist. Inspired to pursue dentistry by her uncle who was also a dentist, she went on to apply to  dental school after completing the hygiene program at Ohio State.

After being accepted to Case Western Reserve dental school near her hometown of Cleveland, she was mentored by some of the area’s leading Prosthodontic Specialists and oral-maxillofacial dentists. Following her graduation from dental school in 1982, she completed a residency at the Veteran’s Affairs in Buffalo and then applied to the prosthodontics postgraduate dental program at the University of Buffalo. 2 years later, she earned a certification in prosthodontics and became a prosthodontics specialist.

Dr. Ricotta’s philosophy of care is centered on providing the highest quality of dentistry in a supportive and nurturing environment, by implementing the most advanced techniques available in modern patient care.

Professional Affiliations

In addition to taking multiple continuing education courses each year, Dr. Ricotta is also a member of the following professional organizations:

  • Erie County Dental Society
  • American Dental Association
  • American Academy of Sleep Dentistry
  • Better Business Bureau  

She also continues to teach radiology to dental hygiene students at Erie Community College.

Outside of the Office

In her spare time, Dr. Ricotta enjoys whipping up healthy Italian dishes and volunteering with her home church, St. Leo the Great. She is also an avid cyclist. She enjoys going to sporting events with her family and her favorite sports team is the Buffalo Bills.
